Get back to your work.

Short, practical guidance for installing TabTonic, building local workspaces, recovering a copy, and understanding Pro sync.

From open window to saved workspace.

  1. Install TabTonic in a supported desktop Chrome or Edge browser.
  2. Open the toolbar popup or pin the TabTonic side panel.
  3. Use Save window to preserve the current set of tabs as a workspace.
  4. Name the workspace and place it in a folder when that helps.
  5. Open or focus the workspace later to return to the same context.

Core features work without an account.

Signed-out and Free users can create local workspaces, organize folders, search, import and export, and restore local recovery backups. The workspace you are actively using remains local first.

Working offline

Keep using local workspaces normally. If you have Pro, pending sync work is preserved locally and retries after connectivity returns.

Popup and side panel

Both surfaces use the same workspace state and shared controls. Choose the compact popup for a quick action or the side panel for longer work.

Search, export, and archive saved work.

Search the workspace, then the tabs.

Use Name to search folder and workspace names. Switch to All to search tab titles and URLs too.

Archive it instead of deleting it.

Export one workspace as JSON or the whole library. Archive completed work, turn on Show archived, and unarchive it when it becomes useful again.

Restore a safe copy, not over the original.

Open Cloud Sync, then Recovery Backups, in the popup or side panel. TabTonic keeps recent local backup snapshots for the last 10 days.

  1. Find the workspace backup by name, date, reason, and tab count.
  2. Select Restore as Copy.
  3. Inspect the new restored workspace before moving or deleting tabs.

Recovery never overwrites the original workspace. Local backups stay on that browser profile and do not roam to another device.

Cloud changes wait when your window is open.

Pro adds cloud sync across devices. TabTonic does not silently reshape an open workspace because another device has a newer revision.

Update

When cloud has a newer workspace and there is no competing local work, use Update on that workspace row to apply it deliberately.

Review sync

When local and cloud both changed, Review lets you keep local tabs and save them to cloud, or get the cloud tabs. TabTonic saves the displaced side as a local recovery backup first.

Sync now

Sync now sends genuine pending work and refreshes status. It does not invent content or silently replace an already-open browser window.

Manage paid access inside the extension.

Sign-in, checkout, billing management, password recovery, and account deletion stay inside TabTonic. The public website does not hold an account session or process checkout.

If a payment is past due

The extension shows the payment warning and access cutoff. Use Manage subscription to update billing through Polar.

If you delete the account

TabTonic stops billing through Polar before deleting the Supabase account and cloud data. Local browser storage is separate and is not erased by cloud account deletion.
